I've been listening to Whole Wheat Radio since January almost every day. Good songs...good vibes... I am a real newby at computer work..and some of the artists are totally unfamiliar to me..so I have been really enjoying trying out all the songs..and the wonderful way this is organized. thanks everyone for putting together such a great website!!
I love accoustic music. Guitar, piano, harp, cello, all genre..silly to sentimental. I especially love to hear it played up close and personal. Have to say, house concerts are a favorite. If you are a traveling musician, and would like to play in my town this summer. Drop me an email. I'll try to help. Or if you host house concerts in Alaska, please keep me in your loop.
Seldovia Summer Solstice Musical (June 20 and 21, 2008) http://www.seldoviamusicfestival.org/albums/festival08/index.html The festival was outstanding, from the ferry jam to the show, to the late night stuff. The next festival will be June 18, 19 and 20 2009 Deadline for applications is March 1, 2009
I have been a major supporter of independent music in Alaska for over 30 years. Recently, I have been a member of various councils which promote the arts in Alaska including: Alaska Arts in Education, National Art Education Association, The Getty Museum (Arts Institutes) National Folk Alliance, National Folk Alliance region FAR-West, the Seldovia Arts Council, my own little house concert series, Crazy Crow and more. I just love this music because it represents the human spirit in the same way the story tellers tell stories and visual artists create. I even try to play a little guitar and write my own songs. I wish I could do more..
I just realized that I have been lucky enough to have seen over 100 of the artists played here on Whole Wheat Radio LIVE AND bought their CDs..I guess that is alot of support over time. Lots of them have been presented in Seldovia over the last 10 years. Some of them I've met at the Anchorage Folk Festival which is coming up this January. What a grand thing this is. And what about National Folk Alliance???

Crazy Crow House Concerts in Seldovia, Alaska is looking for summer concerts in a beautiful place. Please contact if you are a traveling musician and would like to play. I am currently not in town, however, and am somewhat slow in getting back to people.. don't dispair...summer is coming.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Time for some new stuff. What do we know anyway.. nobody here is a soothsayer..(I hope)
Saw a Coyote on the trail in the city..it was too fast to get a picture..very cool. Some rabbits here still...at night.
I hear owls hooting..and overhead there are red-tailed hawks and birds all year long..
...still have "bumps" on the roof-that could be possums..or racoons,,just like I remembered as a kid.
Just love it here. Too many cars..though..
