Audio Lag Time
From WWR
Audio lag time is when the song you are hearing from your speakers does not agree with what this system says is playing. This is because it takes a certain amount of time for the audio to get from the computer in Talkeetna, Alaska to you. Depending on the speed of your connection, whether you are on dial-up or high-speed and the overall state of the internet, this audio lag time can range from a few seconds to several minutes.
This page allows you to set your audio lag time so the WWR "What's Playing" screens will more closely match what you're actually hearing. Unfortunately, there is no way this can be a perfect process with exact precision. Web traffic conditions are constantly changing so your lag time may 'drift'. But you can always return to this screen and reset your audio lag time whenever you want.
It's easy to do. All you have to do is make sure you are listening to the song you see displayed below on your speakers. If you are on dial-up, you may have to wait several minutes until you hear this song on your speakers. Once you are sure you are hearing the song listed below on your speakers, wait until the song ends and then click on the button right when it ends. The system will be able to do a rough calculation of your audio lag time since it knows the actual time that song ended. You must be logged in to do this.
If you're not sure what the song listed below sounds like, just keep refreshing this screen until you see a song you know you'll be able to identify when it plays on your speakers. If you mess up and click the button for the wrong song, don't worry. Just keep refreshing this screen and re-clicking the button until you get it right.
Good luck!
