The Oriskany Strings
This small group of friends, from the Blue Ridge Mountain village of Oriskany, plays mostly old-time gospel music just like it was so commonly heard in churches throughout the mountains. The accompaniment includes old-time banjo and a handmade washtub bass. (See their picture, as they normally perform in period costumes!)
