He has created a singular "multi-sensory" experience as he actually prepares a huge pot of Gumbo on stage during his show—ready to serve to his hungry fans at the end of the night. Since he started serving up his own fiercely original blues and gumbo more than 10 years ago, this Florida native has cooked and served-up over 70,000 bowls of gumbo to blues fans around the world. Bill Wharton is by no means a straight-ahead blues player, the guitarist, singer and songwriter's recordings and shows feature a rootsy mix of blues, classic R&B and Cajun-flavored tunes.
