Patty Greer has made a recent U-turn in her songwriting style, from writing love songs about men & romance to songs of Universal Love. Being a passionate musician since she was 6, she rarely had to be disciplined to practice. Music has always flowed through her veins and songwriting has been the outlet for the voice of her soul. With touching lyrics & transcending melodies on harp & piano, tears flow at most of her recent performances. Heart opening music indeed; people are calling her music "mesmerizing".

Recent performances are intimate concert settings and special events as well as some unique volunteer performances. She has opened sacred ceremonies & performed for Global Humanitarian Her Holiness Sai Maa (from India) who recently asked her to perform at the United Nations in 2006. She will also be playing for H.H.Cealo in November, another well loved Global Spiritual Teacher.

Patty Greer is a finalist in the 2005 International "Song Of The Year Songwriting Contest" with " Are You The One? " from her Deeper Dance Of Night CD engineered by Kevin Clock of Colorado Sound Recording Studios.

She has performed at Red Rocks and played with great musicians around Colorado for 30+ years. Her 2 original CDs,"The Deeper Dance of Night" & "Bridge Of Forgiveness" are now available on CD Baby.com.

She's a solid singer who is gifted at arranging & layering her own 2-5 part vocal harmonies. She and Merlin, the magical 36-string jeweled harp seem to be connected at the core. This harp sings! From soft passionate solos to percolating danceable hip-hop grooves with the band boys, her original styles melt into a wide array of unique genres. She's a colorful performer with a great sense of style & humor.

Patty was classically trained on the piano and rarely missed a days' practice. Her father was a passionate singer/songwriter/pianist in the 1940s and 50s. He wrote love ballads and sang to her often. Then he died when she was only 16, leaving her with the gift of music.

She grew up in Los Angeles, writing songs and recording starting at 16. She gigged as a solo artist around LA and enjoyed playing at the Troubadour. Her first band was a feisty all girl group called "The Past Times." They did cover tunes and a few early originals.

At 17 she moved to Boulder,Colorado and became a piano performance major at the CU Music School. Once discovering the 3 gold harps in the practice rooms, she twisted a few rules to change her major midstream to Harp. She proudly played harp for the CU orchestra after only one year of serious study.

By 20 she helped to create an eclectic band called "Beggars Opera" with 3 women (harp & piano, cello and flute) and 3 very long haired guys (guitar, bass and drums). They played original music all over Colorado for 10+ years and had a serious following. The last few years the band was known as "New Reign" and they did a great show at Red Rocks for their grand finale.

Patty Greer was a regular solo opening act for Chuck Morris at Ebbets Field in Denver and Tulagi's in Boulder for many years. She opened for a mix of acts from Taj Mahal to Cheech and Chong. She later played with an intimate & eclectic trio in the late 90's called "Skin Deep" with Kristina Lawrence & Sapphire. They did original music and interesting versions of covers.

"The Deeper Dance Of Night" was brilliantly engineered by Kevin Clock, owner of Colorado Sound Studios. His midi man Tom Capek worked closely with Patty to create many of the amazing orchestral tracks and then at the end he called the project "Spectacular, the best CD I've worked on in years!" Kip Kuepper, midi & bass player on a few tracks called it "One of the best sonic recordings around."
