Pat Gahn is sort of a local fixture in Bisbee. He plays every Wednesday night at Old Thymers...kind of a motorcycle hangout bar and restaurant. He also appears regularly at Hot Licks, a local BBQ place, and at the Farmer's Market on some Saturdays in the summer, and just about any local musical gathering, such as the First Annual Bisbee Blues Festival, in June of 2005.
Pat told me he really likes Talkeetna, and lived for a while in Cantwell...when his car broke down there and he decided to stay for a while. He is very excited about independent radio, and loves the idea of being able to contribute some music to it. He regularly sings a lot of covers, songs from the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, etc...but this small album called Road Work is all his own original material. He says he will be heading back to the studio soon for some more.
Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, with a music teacher for a mother and a renowned drummer and jazz club owner for a father, Pat Gahn couldn’t help but become the prolific lyricist and guitarist that he is.
Since the time he was born, in 1973, Pat has been surrounded and influenced by artists like; Lightnin’ Hopkins, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zant, John Prine, Tom Waits, Steve Earl, Willie Nelson and The Allman Brothers, to name a few. read more
